Situated in the pretty village of Colby, the cottage is just 2 miles from Appleby where you will find local amenities, shops, pubs and indoor swimming facilities. There is also a train station which is part of the Settle to Carlisle line. From May to September why not enjoy a swim in the open-air pools at either Shap or Askham, both under 11 miles away. For any equestrians, there are lots of centres locally if you fancy a hack to take in some of the local countryside, or if you enjoy a spot of golf there are local courses in Appleby (2 miles) and Penrith (16 miles). Head into the Lake District National Park for the day (within 10 miles), where you can enjoy a day at Lowther Castle, paddleboard on Ullswater or take a trip on a steamer and visit Aira Force waterfall.

Entering the property from the curved, covered porchway, you will find yourself in the hallway/lobby. There is a useful utility room with WC just off the hall where you can hang wet coats and clean your muddy walking boots. Back through the hallway, you will find the kitchen and informal lounge which has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden and covered veranda. The bespoke kitchen has a double electric oven, induction hob, microwave, wine cooler, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is a dining table that can seat the whole party and there is a lounge area with a Smart TV, making this the perfect social room for the whole family to gather. You can also access the garden from this room. Heading out of the kitchen, you will find yourself in the main hallway and the lounge is opposite. This is a real cosy room decorated with warm colours and features a wood burner (first basket of logs provided) and Smart TV. This room is the ideal spot to curl up with a good book or watch a movie after a day out exploring. There is access to the front garden from the lounge. The staircase to the first floor is found back in the hallway. Head up the attractive low-lit staircase and you will find a spacious landing with two double bedrooms featuring built-in wardrobes. There is a bathroom that has a walk-in shower, separate bath and WC. There is also a dressing room with a full-length mirror, plentiful storage and a dressing table. The master bedroom is at the end of the landing, down a step. It offers a Smart TV and an en-suite which features a large walk-in shower and WC. Also accessed from the landing is a balcony overlooking the open countryside, with a couple of sun loungers for you to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

There is a private garden with a patio, lawn and seating for you to enjoy a warm evening or an early morning coffee. There is also parking for three cars on the private drive, and a large garage with an electric door which has a utility area and bike racks.

We loved Pinfold House; its location, setting, decor and design is second to none. We would love to return another time. Stunning, beautiful location, well equipped worked well for 6 adults. WiFi is sketchy, bit of an issue for the younger members. Owners were really great at sorting bedding for my son's feather allergy.

Stunning house in a peaceful village location, perfect for exploring the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The house itself is amazing, lots of space and well laid out with two lovely gardens. For dog owners - the front garden isn't enclosed but we managed by standing in the gaps so pooch could have a good run around! Incredible holiday. The house was amazing in every way and its hard to put into words how beautiful it was. There was nothing that we would change apart from more seating as we couldnt all eat together. Plus blackout Blinds are a must for the bedroom at the top of the stairs. Apart from that the house is more than five star. We would come back and Read morestay here in a heartbeat as its just a beautiful property in a perfect location. Lovely part of the country, close to Appleby nice few shops and river walks, surrounding area is lovely enjoyed looking at the cows and the different birds and also not far from Keswick Ullswater and Windermere a must to visit Nice little welcome pack and loved the balcony but maybe more furniture is needed can't wait to return

If you are looking to relax and chill out in the country, then Pinfold House is perfect. Good walks on your doorstep and a most comfortable property. There were just two of us staying, Four would be manageable but six people perhaps a little over crowded. Really loved our stay here. Great location for exploring The Lakes and also The Dales. The house was really beautiful and had everything we needed. We looked forward to coming back there after a day of walking. Highly recommend abs would love to stay there again ourselves.

Beautiful house in a quiet village with good arrangements for dog friendly holiday. We loved the upper deck and the big open plan area. Well appointed kitchen with sharp knives at last and a fridge space large enough for everything I brought. Loved the wine fridge !

We loved staying in Pinfold House. The property is spacious, really quirky and has lots of lovely personal touches that make it feel homely. It was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed watching the cows and sheep. It was easy to get to the Lakes and the Dales and there were lots of shops, cafes and pubs in Appleby. The Cottage was comfortable, very well equipped with tranquil patio and gardens in a pleasant rural location close to shops, pubs and restaurants.
