Situated to the south of the national park, Coniston Water, Esthwaite Water and Lake Windermere are all within 10 miles and offer a range of walking trails, outdoor activities and water sports. Between Coniston and Windermere, you can also venture into Grizedale Forest Park where guests of all ages and abilities can partake in a range of woodland activities. The National Trust’s Hill Top at Sawrey, home to Beatrix Potter, is also popular with guests. The towns of Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside (13 miles) are packed with independent shops, eateries and outdoor specialists.
