Occupying the ground floor and part of the first floor of a traditional Lakeland house, this light, charming property is full of character and provides ample accommodation for six guests. Ideally situated in a peaceful hamlet, this tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished apartment is within easy reach of Windermere, Coniston Water and several bustling villages.

This light-filled property features a bright, spacious, high-ceilinged lounge with ceiling beams and a traditional wood burner set in a slate fireplace. The elegantly designed kitchen is fully equipped and has a lovely dining table perfect for sharing a family meal together. Exploring this delightful property further, there are two bright and refreshing ground floor king-size bedrooms and one charming first floor double bedroom. The property also offers a stylish bathroom and two en-suite shower rooms. Heading outside, the pretty patio has plenty of outdoor furniture, making it an ideal space to sit back and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

With the banks of Windermere within a quarter of a mile, the apartment is perfectly placed for walkers, cyclists, climbers and nature lovers exploring this magical part of the Lake District. Quaint villages nearby include Hawkshead (3.5 miles) and Far Sawrey (1 mile) where you will find some welcoming pubs and restaurants. Local attractions include Beatrix Potter’s house at Hill Top (1.5 miles) and Claife Viewing Station (1 mile) which offers spectacular views across Windermere. Heading west, the stunning lakes of Esthwaite Water (2 miles) and Coniston Water (6.5 miles) are within easy reach. Also nearby are the beautiful Fell Foot Park (7.5 miles) and Grizedale Forest (6 miles) with its walking, cycling and sculpture trails.

Absolutely lovely cottage. Really well equipped the layout is unusual but we loved it. We were concerned over the other comments regarding noise issues from upstairs, although you can hear them moving around a little we found them extremely considerate. This was a last minute booking and we did recharge our batteries. The house is quirky in it's layout but I liked it. It was ample big enough. It was clean and comfortable with an eye for decoration. This is a lovely property. Warm, comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated, and everything we needed. Great position and views. Very quiet - unless there are people upstairs. Even people walking around upstairs is loud, but the children playing wacky races for several hours was so noisy we wondered whether we would be able to stay. Due to the fact that upstairs could get quite noisy if you had a couple of families with kids above you I would not recommend to any of my friends. We had a few people upstairs and bumps galore but they were doing nothing more than just walking around normally. The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed and in a quiet, scenic spot. Very isolated, which was great for us but may not suit those who want to be near shops and restaurants. There was a lot of noise from people walking about upstairs, but you dont expect sound proofing in an old cottage.

We had a lovely week in this idyllic spot and the cottage is a fab base for exploring the lakes. Great view of lake Windermere sat outside at the table.

Cunsey house is in a beautiful location with 3 lovely double bedrooms, and handy utility/drying room. When we visited, unfortunately there were signs of poor maintenance and inadequate cleaning. The garage was not usable and there was a lot of noise from the upstairs occupants which can be a problem in a shared building. Cottage is very spacious and has everything you could need. It is in a remote area so definitely need a car to go anywhere,. We walked one night to the local pub/restaurant, and didnt realise coming back in the dark would be so hazardous, the lane has no lights, so if on foot you must take a torch with you. Lovely cottage with comfortable beds. Warm even through storm Dennis! Well appointed kitchen. Good location for walkers. 5 of us stayed for 4 nights in February and had a wonderful rural break. Nearest shop is in Hawkshead - just over an hour on foot, 10 minutes by car. In high season only there's a local bus.

There were six adults (it is so hard to find somewhere that offers three double bedrooms) and I can honestly say we had plenty of room without ever feeling crowded whatsoever. Local pub not realistically walkable after dark, so if you have to drive you might as well go further afield. Great access to the ferry , which is 5 in the car to get straight over to Bowness/ Windermere . This has been a perfect house for my three daughters and I. Lovely spacious rooms with lovely distant views of the lake. Plenty of parking space and easy to walk down to the Lakeside along the country lane. As a wheelchair user Cunsey is an excellent place.
