To the west, the Cumbria coastline offers some beautiful beaches and resorts, including Maryport (8 miles) where you can visit the Senhouse Roman Museum and the Lake District Coast Aquarium. Heading east, the Lake District offers a wealth of attractions including the Lakes Distillery and the Lake District Wildlife Park close to the northern edge of Bassenthwaite Lake (all within 7.5 miles).
