Lovely dog friendly cottage, well positioned for exploring the Northern/Western Lakes and a very short drive to shops and restaurants. Spacious with everything needed - the well fenced enclosed garden was a real bonus for our dog. Spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water for a nice bath after a cold walk! The road is busy and quite loud at times, but Read morewe knew about this when booking, it didnt affect our stay and there is a great parking area to make getting in and out easy. Hide

This cottage is a great find. Its spotlessly clean tastefully decorated has comfy sofa and beds and a great well equipped kitchen. The photographs dont really do it justice. Oh and its super dog friendly. We loved the location as its only 5 minutes by car from cockermouth but far enough to feel away from the august crowds. Easily assessable to lotsRead more of attractions with great parking and a well fenced seating area to keep the dog safe. We will definitely be rebooking Hide

We had a lovely stay over the Jubilee Bank Holiday at Crofters Retreat. Jacqui could not have been more welcoming and the cottage is beautifully done. Very relaxing, well equipped and laid out. Jacqui looked after our two dogs in the evening as she has a dog walking and sitting business which wonderfully complements the pet friendly holiday let. Read moreShe absolutely loves dogs and that shines through with lovely little touches like providing dog towels, bowls, treats and beds. Jacqui mentioned she plans to provide a dedicated dog exercise area which will be a great addition to the enclosed courtyard space. The cottage has two off-road parking spaces and though it is well located for the fast chargers in Keswick Jacqui mentioned she is exploring installing a dedicated charger which would have been very handy for us. The cottage is on the side of a busy road which is its only downside, but from our point of view that was vastly out-weighed by the availability of parking, the wonderful welcome for our dogs and its great location for a long-weekend exploring the Western Lakes. We will definitely stay next time we are in the area. Hide
