There are numerous spectacular walks and cycle trails across the Cartmel Peninsula, with local landmarks and attractions including Holker Hall and Gardens, Hampsfell (both 2 miles), Sizergh Castle (11 miles) and Levens Hall (13 miles). The lovely coastal town of Grange-over-Sands overlooks Morecambe Bay (2.5 miles). Inland, you can explore Windermere (6.5 miles), Esthwaite Water (12 miles) and Coniston Water (15 miles).
