Wander the quaint streets of England's 'Booktown', Sedburgh, a bustling market town full of traditional stores, antique shops and cosy eateries. Head onto Winder Fell for uninterrupted views across both the Lake District hills and the Yorkshire Dales from its summit. Saddle up to explore the quiet country roads by bicycle, or for more challenging rides, the Bowderdale Circuit is on the doorstep and slightly further afield recreate the Tour de Yorkshire as you ride the Buttertubs Pass.

Nestled on the banks of the River Rawthey, your cosy cottage is full of charm and character. Snuggle up on the comfortable sofa as the flames flicker in the wood burner. Cook up a storm in the bright modern kitchen overlooking the garden and enjoy at the snug table for two. When it's time to turn in, head upstairs to the inviting double bedroom dressed in crisp linens with colourful cushions and throws. Spend sunny evenings outside on your private patio, a heavenly haven overlooking the distant hills.

With riverside rambles and scenic walks on your doorstep, you do not have to venture far to appreciate the landscapes and vistas that have inspired poets and artists for generations. Described by Wainwright as a, 'herd of sleeping elephants' the Howgills Fells offer a myriad of walks with spectacular views as their reward. Tumbling 200 metres down the cliffs, the cascade falls of Cautley Spout (4.5 miles) is England's highest above ground waterfall. View the falls from ground-level or climb the steep ascent to the summit of the falls for views out to the distant sea.

Lovely cosy house, very small but comfortable and well equipped. Great location for a short walk to the village for a pint or some shopping. We would definitely visit again.

We had a lovely break at the cottage, we have two small dogs and the cottage was perfect for walks which were right on the doorstep, the cottage was beautifully clean and cosy and we would definitely go back again. The welcome basket was also a nice surprise.

This is a well designed and we'll appointed cottage with a very comfortable double bed and we'll equipped bathroom in a beautiful location which is ideal for a walking holiday in an area that deserves a higher reputation than it has.

Buttercup cottage is simply fantastic. Every detail has been thought of and every design touch has been considered. The cottage is a wonderful, comfy, relaxing place with good access to many walks and beautiful views. A very comfortable, cosy little cottage tastefully decorated throughout. A good location for the Dales and the Lakes set in the small but friendly town of Sedbergh. Most places very dog friendly which made our stay very enjoyable and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

This is a lovely small cottage set in ideal location for N Yorks and S Lakes walks of which there is a vast choice! Very clean and bed very comfy - unlike many other cottages we have hired! It has equipment commensurate with its size and quite sufficient.

Very cosy cottage. Well maintained and equipped. Beautiful surroundings and the area is perfect if you love to walk. The neighbours are all very friendly. The village has plenty of pubs and places to eat. There is also a very good grocery store, a butcher and a chemist.

Beautiful cottage just outside the lovely town of Sedbergh. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there and enjoyed running along the river, visiting local pubs and spending cosy nights in front of the log burner. A perfect place to enjoy Yorkshires lovely countryside.

We have had a fantastic stay at Buttercup Cottage. Your location is so peaceful in such a beautiful area. We walked the dogs on the Dales Way from the bottom of the lane and up the track to the left. It was so lovely to spend time in the cottage which is so cosy and had everything we needed. We hope to stay here again in the near future!

Buttercup Cottage is one of the best places that Ive stayed-gorgeous welcome basket, sparklingly clean and so cosy-the Christmas decorations were wonderful. The cottage is only a short hop to Sedbergh and all of the great amenities there, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. A very special place indeed.
