Broomriggs is located in a beautiful setting, with spectacular views to Esthwaite Water. The property is set amongst well-maintained grounds and we stayed in a large, 3 bedroom apartment which was clean and very well equipped. The location is excellent and we had a brilliant time exploring The Lakes, Grizedale Forest and Hawkshead. Access to EsthwaRead moreite Water was a bonus and we enjoyed use of the rowing boats. Would thoroughly recommend. Hide

The accommodation had a really good layout, the bedrooms were not on top of each other. The lounge was very spacious but also cosy with a good selection of games to play. The bathrooms were adequate and everything worked. The new kitchen had a good layout and the breakfast was very useful.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
