Nestled in a secluded location, this romantic retreat will suit couples seeking a luxurious holiday hideaway from which to explore the unique landscape that has inspired poets and artists through the ages. Charter a boat for two to search out a picturesque picnic spot along the banks of Lake Windermere or head to vibrant Ambleside for a gourmet meal in one of its artisan restaurants. Follow in Wordsworth's footsteps on a woodland walk to Aira Force where the dramatic 70-foot cascade hides in the landscape where the poet walked 'lonely as a cloud'.

Your light and airy accommodation boasts a wonderful open-plan living space with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and large windows overlooking the gardens. Snuggle up on the plush sofa relaxing in the gentle warmth of the wood burner after a long day hiking the fells. Plan your day's activities over a coffee sat at the breakfast bar or enjoy a cosy supper at the table for two. At bedtime head through to the sumptuous double bedroom with free-standing bath and en-suite shower room. Your private patio is the perfect spot for an alfresco drink in the evening or take a pre-supper stroll around the three acres of shared garden.

If you can tear yourself away from the swimming pool and spa facilities at your cottage there are plenty of things to see and do within easy reach. Stroll around bustling Bowness (8 miles), one of the most popular lakeside towns, browsing the boutiques and galleries. Meet Peter Rabbit at The World of Beatrix Potter and appreciate the arts and crafts interior of the architectural gem, Blackwell. Take the steamer across the lake to board the historic Lakeside Railway for a nostalgic journey through the countryside on one of their preserved steam trains.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect place for a secluded & relaxing break. The cottage is rustic, but loaded with state of the art technology (including mood lighting options)! The giant tub in the bedroom is heavenly & the bath robes were a lovely touch. The leisure facilities could rival that of a spa!

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
