Situated in the popular Lake District town of Windermere, this property has everything you need for a getaway with the family. From the house itself are a variety of walks including School Knott or Orrest Head. The vibrant town of Windermere is a short walk from the property and is a great place to enjoy the many cafes, pubs and restaurants or browsing the shops. Head down to Bowness which is only a short drive away where you can head out onto Lake Windermere and take a tour of the lake via the steamboats, or if you prefer to hire some kayaks and have your own mini adventures. This is a great base for exploring Ambleside, Bowness, Grizedale Forest and lots of National Trust properties.

When you arrive at this grand property you will enter via a small porch which is ideal for keeping muddy boots after a day’s walking. Through the main door you are greeted by a long hallway. First, on your left is the lounge, with big bay windows and coal effect electric fire, along with two sofas, two chairs and a Smart TV. Before the stairs, on the left, is the snug which is a perfect spot to relax after a day’s activities. Here you will find a sofa and an armchair along with a wood burner effect electric fire and TV/DVD. Heading through the property, you will enter this well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave. Through an arched doorway you will enter the high-ceilinged dining room where many a family meal will be had. In this majestic room you have a large oak table with leather chairs. Heading upstairs to the first floor you will find the family bathroom with original brass shower over bath and WC. Up a few steps you will find the first double bedroom, equipped with your own TV and en-suite shower room and WC. Followed by the king-size bedroom with amazingly spacious en-suite shower room and WC and TV, along with your own little cosy area. Up to the second floor, we have the second double bedroom with TV and en-suite shower room and WC, followed by the twin zip-and-link room (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request), again with its own TV and en-suite shower room and WC.

Leading out from the dining room, head along the side of the property to a lovely patio area with seating area and BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining. There is a stream running adjacent to the back of the garden which does set the scene. There is roadside parking, subject to availability.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
