Just a short distance from the cottage, Cartmel is a delightful village with quaint cobbled streets and stream-side walks. Cartmel Racecourse is home to the UK’s shortest steeplechase and has a full diary of interesting events when there are no race meetings. The seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands is a lovely place to spend the day exploring the attractions on the town’s promenade and is only a short drive away, as well as Windermere, Hawkshead, Coniston, or Ulverston; this is a perfect base to explore some of the hidden treasures of the Lake District.

This beautiful country house will feel like a home away from home as soon as you walk in the door. The lounge boasts comfort and tranquillity with two sofas and armchairs along with a Smart TV to enjoy a family movie with the wood burner crackling away. The snug boats another wood burner and seating area right in the hub of the house. The kitchen/diner is the main focal point of the house; with an abundance of space, it's a wonderful social area to spend time together. Here you can create a family feast and enjoy it at the dining table. There is an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher , in addition, there is a utility room with AGA, a washing machine, and a tumble dryer. There is also a shower room with a shower and WC at the rear of the house. On the first floor, we have two king-size bedrooms and two double bedrooms and a main bathroom with bath, separate shower, and WC.

At the front of the property is an enclosed garden area and at the rear, a patio area with seating and a charcoal BBQ. There is off-road parking for four cars.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
