Surrounded by breathtaking countryside, this tastefully updated property dates back to 1886 and makes a fabulous retreat for up to eight guests exploring the southern fringe of the Lake District. With a cosy wood burner, stylish shuttered windows and a feature stone fireplace, the spacious main lounge is an ideal spot for getting together and unwinding with a movie at the end of a great day. There’s plenty of additional space to sit back in the beautiful light-filled conservatory where you can watch the birds and wildlife in the garden. You can gather together to enjoy a special meal in the light and formal dining room, while the tastefully designed kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. The ground floor also offers an invigorating shower room and two cosy bedrooms: a single and a double. The sweeping staircase leads to the first floor and three further bedrooms: two pretty double rooms and a charming single, plus an elegant family bathroom. Outside, the extensive garden features mature shrubs and trees, as well as a pretty summer house with comfortable seating and a wood burner, providing a lovely space for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

A beautiful house, with an exceptional garden. There is a kennels nearby and you can hear the dogs each day, but its not too disruptive. We would stay again.

A lovely house, easy to live on, in a lovely location. The house was comfortable and great for us and the dogs. The beds were comfy and the rooms spacious. The garden is large and plenty of space for people and dogs.. The summer house is a cool spot to retreat to on hotter days. A good location to explore the lakes and villages. A spacious cottage tucked away from the major towns in the Lakes which we loved. The layout of the cottage was perfect for us with a large dining room leafing from the kitchen where we spent most of our time. Both bathrooms have been modernised to a high standard complimenting the old style cottage. Nice large house, good for a group or family get together. House has evidently had some renovations done recently and the new bathrooms are lovely. Garden is very spacious with good areas of outside seating.
