Envisage a staycation characterised by stunning scenery, delicious local fare and relaxing evenings soaking under the stars in your own private hot tub. This delightful lodge is based just 8 miles from the bustling streets of Penrith and is within easy reach of the Lake District National Park, a must for those with a love of the outdoors. Ideal for families and sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, you’ll receive a warm greeting in the form of a lavish welcome pack brimming with goodies and essentials.

Don the bathrobes and slippers provided before uncorking the wine and unwinding in style, feasting on a BBQ supper and stargazing from the bubbling hot tub on the decked area outside. Inside, the lounge/kitchen/diner is elegant and spacious with high ceilings, providing a comfortable retreat for film nights teamed with bowls of buttery popcorn. Change pace and dress up for a candlelit feast prepared in the kitchen, then swap stories by the flame-effect electric fire when you are full-bellied and weary. At bedtime, the master bedroom offers a restful night’s sleep complete with a TV and en-suite shower room, and there is a pretty twin room too. There’s also a handy shower room and off-road parking for one car.

Discover a world that has inspired artists, poets and writers in the Lake District National Park, a fairy-tale landscape of glacial lakes, pockets of ancient forest and miles of rugged countryside. A stroll around Ullswater 16 miles away will enthuse explorers of all ages, especially if you factor in a well-deserved pub lunch at Pooley Bridge 13.5 miles away. Absolutely lovely and relaxing place for a break away. The cabin was very modern and clean. The cabin is literally a minute walk away from a pub which is great food, good value for money and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
