Overlooking the River Eea, this charming cottage makes a wonderfully relaxing holiday home for four guests. Perfect for couples and families seeking a tranquil getaway, this characterful and traditional weaver’s cottage retains plenty of original features including exposed wooden beams and a warming wood burner set in a stone fireplace. Within easy reach of Windermere and the River Leven, this delightful property makes a great base for eager walkers, cyclists, hikers and nature lovers exploring the southern part of the Lake District and the Cartmel Peninsula.

Entering this quaint and inviting property, you will find the spacious and cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is an ideal space to snuggle up in front of the wood burner and enjoy a film, or sit on the window seat to watch the river pass by. Featuring exposed wooden beams, the stylishly designed kitchen/diner is perfect for rustling up and sharing all your favourite family meals. There are two airy and tastefully decorated first-floor bedrooms: one king-size and a double, along with the family bathroom. Outside, there’s a small open area to the rear with space to store bikes. To the front, the charming seating area overlooks the river and makes a pleasant spot for a morning coffee as you look out for local wildlife and plan the day’s events.

The pretty village of Cark has a choice of places to eat and drink, and is within a mile of Sandgate Country Park and Holker Hall and Gardens, with the popular coastal town of Grange-over-Sands to the east (4 miles). Cartmel (5 miles) makes a wonderful entry point to the Lake District, and is home to a range of boutique shops, traditional pubs and fantastic restaurants as well as Cartmel Racecourse. The southern edge of Windermere is just a short drive away (8 miles).

A very welcoming, well equipped cottage in a beautiful position at the side of a beck. Exceptionally clean. Loved the proximity to the railway station. We took a train ride from Cark up the stunning coastline to St Bees. Great walking and cycling routes.
