Ambleside is a great base for walkers, with easy access to routes such as Fairfield Horseshoe, Loughrigg, and Wansfell. Alternatively, for something a little less strenuous, try the Rydal Round or the Ambleside Heritage Trail. The town sits at the northern end of Windermere, and from Waterhead Pier you can join one of the cruises to explore the area from the water. The National Trust's Stagshaw Gardens makes a lovely day out, and you can also visit Coniston Water and Grizedale Forest (all within 10 miles).

This level is also home to a refreshing family bathroom. Please note, the bedrooms have sloping ceilings, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas.
