The historic city of Carlisle with its beautiful cathedral and castle located in the city centre, offers a great base. Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery are well worth a visit, or the Solway Aviation Museum is just 8 miles away. The Lake District is only 20 miles away, visit Ullswater and take a trip on one of the famous steamers, or conquer stunning Catbells or Skiddaw where you can see for miles from the summits. The beautiful Solway coast is just 14 miles away. Eden Rock which is located in the town has one of the biggest and best indoor bouldering walls in the UK, a great activity for a wet day. Visit Gretna Green, just 12 miles away, and see the wedding anvil or enjoy a day shopping at the outlet village. Within 50 metres from your front door there are some lovely restaurants, pubs, cinema and swimming pool.
