Lakeside Access
Hodge Howe cottage lies about two miles north of Bowness, on Lake Windermere. Approached by a leafy track, this semi detached cottage has private, secluded grounds, sharing a lakeside beach where you may launch your own boat.
Bowness is one of the Lake Districts most popular villages, with its many shops, inns, cafes and restaurants all marching down the hill, ending at the sweeping bay with its boats and steamers overlooking Lake Windermere.
There are some fine attractions for a day close to home. The steam boat museum is well worth a visit, where you can take a trip on a restored victorian craft. Come evening there is the cinema and theatre, where after you can sample the culinary delights on offer such as the Port Hole Eating House and the renowned Miller Howe.
For those couples who enjoy exploring the landscape by day and stepping out to wine and dine in the evening, then Hodge Howe will be the perfect Lake District holiday cottage choice.

The front door opens into a small hall. From here you enter the dining room, with the well equipped adjoining kitchen, outside a small outhouse holds the washing machine.
The sitting room is comfortably furnished with two sofas and occasional furniture focused on the open fire.
Stairs lead to a pretty landing off which lie the two bedrooms. One a double the other a twin, both furnished with comfortable beds and pretty fabrics. The bathroom has bath and overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
The immediate grounds, though not formal, are delightful with trees, ferns and flowers, offering space for children to explore and adults to relax.
About two hundred yards from the cottage lies the lake shore. Here you may launch a boat or simply paddle and swim from the shallow beach.
For a Lakeland holiday I can think of nothing as perfect as a Lake Disrict cottage that has little bit of private beach for lots of fun.
