Owners David & Anne have created two fine homes from this traditional 17th century barn. Set in the peaceful surrounds of the Rusland Valley both properties are ideal for a relaxed country holiday with the added excitement of an Arctic Spa hot tub and sauna. Adults can relax tired muscles after a day on the fells.

The Valley is much unchanged with narrow country lanes, bordered by hedgerows with field and meadow, perfect for cycling or a gentle stroll.

At the head of the valley you have the Grizedale Forest with its many trails and the Go Ape aerial walkways through the tree tops, a great day for the family.

A few miles east lies Newby Bridge, and the southern basin of Windermere, where you can hire boats at Fell Foot Park, or take the steamers from Lakeside for a trip up the lake.

North and you have all the fells and mountains, or go south and you will dicover the coastline, with its many villages and coastal walks.

Stable End

Bank built, Stable End occupies three levels, with the middle floor devoted to the kitchen and sitting room. The kitchen is spacious, fully fitted for easy cooking and relaxed meals around the pine table.

Comfortably furnished, the sitting room has sofa and armchairs drawn to a fine log-burning stove, and the elevated position gives fine views of the valley.

Stairs lead up to the top floor and the master bedroom. The bathroom has a beamed, pitched roof, with the added luxury of a whirlpool bath and separate shower. At ground level are two twin bedrooms, also a shower room and a door leading out to the country lane.

The grounds and facilities are shared by both properties. In the walled courtyard is the hot tub and sauna with cold shower and beyond this is a small orchard and grassed area where you may dine out or children can play

All in all, a fine house with a warm welcome of tea and cake on the table prepared by Anne, a dear friend, and your charming host.

GUEST REVIEWS

"
Good Morning from Canada, John........ now home from our wonderful vacation in Ireland, Scotland and the Lakes, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful cottages, Wood View and Stable End, we recently rented through your company.......we were ALL there for our younger daughter's wedding, held at Broadoaks Country House (which was AMAZING ) and we had such a great time....... despite the weather!!! The cottages were just what we needed and Ann and Dave were delightful hosts......and she is a great cook also!!!!
I have already recommended your company to a patron ( I am a librarian) and shall continue to do so ......... again, thank you."
Kind regards,
J C. Canada
