Wood View - The Location

Owners David & Anne Robinson have created two fine Lake District holiday homes from this traditional 17th century barn. Set in the peaceful surrounds of the Rusland Valley both homes are ideal for a relaxed country holiday with the added excitement of an Arctic Spa hot tub and sauna. Adults can relax tired muscles after a day on the fells.

The valley has ideal lanes for cycling and easy strolls and, a short walk from the house, you come to a track leading through woodland and on to High Dam, a pretty tarn, with a circular route and opportunity to laze on the banks, picnic, paddle and swim.

At the head of the valley you have the Grizedale Forest with its many trails and the Go Ape aerial walkways through the tree tops, a great day for the family.

A few miles east lies Newby Bridge, and the southern basin of Windermere, where you can hire boats at Fell Foot Park, or take the steamers from Lakeside for a trip up the lake.

North and you have all the fells and mountains, or go south and you will dicover the coastline, with its many villages and coastal walks.

Wood View

Wood View, adjoining Stable End, provides fine holiday accommodation for larger parties.

The entrance is through the original great barn doorway. The sitting room, with valley views from the balcony, is very comfortable with plump leather sofas, and a roaring log burner to add atmosphere in winter months.

The kitchen is well equipped and the adjacent dining area has dresser and large pine table, perfect for gathering around for long suppers into the night.

Stairs lead up to a half landing, where they divide. One stairway takes you to two bedrooms; one a double, the other, below a truss, through a very small door, leads into a twin - think Lewis Carroll. With pitched roof and oak beams it is sure to please both adults and children.

The other stairway leads to a double bedroom, with a super iron bedstead and fine views of the valley. Finally on this top floor is the bathroom with whirlpool bath, overhead shower hand basin and WC.

The ground floor has two further bed rooms, one double, one a twin. A further bathroom, is well fitted with bath, separate shower hand basin and WC.

The shared courtyard and grounds offer ample space to relax and the hot tub and sauna will provide fun and relaxation for both adults and children.
