Deer How offers guests a stylish Lake District Cottage. Set a short distance from Ullswater you will have plenty of fun in and on the water, walks onto high fell and mountain, a local inn, and the perfect house to come home to relax and undwind after a days walking and exploration.

Deer How Farm lies an easy half mile walk to the southern shore of Ullswater, in the little village of Patterdale. Here you will find a grocer and general store, post office and a fine inn, the White Lion, serving good local ale.

The Lake is inspiring, a serpentine body of water that snakes its way beneath some of the finest mountain and fell.

Best explored from the southern end, the water is dominated by St Sunday Cragg, Place Fell, Fairfield and Helvellyn. There are walks to explore, mountains to climb or boats to hire for mucking about in and on the water, always with a magnificent view in sight.

Deer How Farm

My first impression of Deer How was one of easy comfort and style, a perfect location, truly a house to holiday at.

Approached by a long drive, Deer How, and the adjoining property, look across to Place Fell. From a small paved and gravelled frontage, you enter into the long sitting room with polished floors, oak beams, plump sofas and a magnificent fire place to curl up around in winter with a good book.

The kitchen is huge, with light streaming down from roof lights over a long table to sit and enjoy lazy lunches, long dinners and table conversation.

There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms. The first is downstairs, a double with its own en-suite bath/shower room. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom, two twin and one single bedroom along with two bathrooms.

To the rear you have the perfect little bit of private fell where you can barbecue or picnic amongst softly rounded rocks or lie in the long grass and take in a superb view.

Whether you are gathering as family or friends or are a couple looking for a special romantic retreat, Deer How will be sure to leave a lasting memory of a perfect holiday break.

GUEST REVIEWS

Thank you for a wonderful week in Deer How Farm - the cottage was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for more festive weather! Thanks again. Ruth H

A perfect cottage in a perfect location.

An excellent place for a holiday with family and friends.

The large kitchen table is wonderful for family get togethers and celebrations.

It was wonderful after a day on the fells to settle in front of the wood burning stove with a glass of red wine.

A home from home.

Cosy bedrooms and snuggly beds.

A place to really get away from it all.
