Keen Ground Cottage offers comfortable, simple accommodation suited to either a couple, or a family with young children. Centrally located in the heart of the Lake District, you have walks nearby, fishing and the village with its many pubs and little shops.

Nearby, a mere ten minute stroll away, lies Hawkshead. Centred on two squares, with narrow streets, timber framed buildings, and cobbled nooks, the earliest buildings date from around the 16th century. There are four good pubs, a grocer, post office and chemist, book shop and cafes, along with walking gear outlets and some good arts and crafts shops.

From the property you are a short walk or drive to some of the best walks and rambles. Tarn Hows is a picture perfect little water, easy for most. The Grizedale Forest offers a long day out exploring the many trails, either by foot or mountain bike. Over the fell you have Coniston Water, where you can hire boats, and at Esthwaite water you can take a day fishing for your supper.

Keen Ground Cottage

Keen Ground Cottage offers cosy and comfortable accommodation for a party of four. Semidetached, it sits in a quiet location at the end of a winding leafy track.

The sitting room, with beamed ceiling, is furnished with a leather sofa and two rockers drawn round an open fire, giving that extra warm glow to winter months.

The kitchen, again with beamed ceiling, has solid fitted units and work tops, most the essentials, and to one end is an oak dining table and chairs.

From the sitting room an enclosed stairway leads to the first floor. Here you have a double bedroom with a splendid brass king size bed, a further twin room best suited for children and the newly fitted The bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, basin and WC.

To the front and side of the cottage is a nice patio area, shaded in part by trees and with a dining table and chairs.
