Coniston village lies in the heart of the Lake District near the north west shores of Coniston Water, overshadowed by the mighty Old Man. Centred on the bridge, the four main streets are a bustling community with shops, post office, cafes and four good pubs.

This is a village with much to do - the Old Man of Coniston offers a great climb, having routes to the summit to suit those of varying ability, also you will find many easier, low level trails over fell, through woodland and by lake shore.

At the boating centre you can hire rowing, sailing and little electric power boats, setting off to explore the shoreline and bays.

To relax you can enjoy the many pubs and cafes such as the Black Bull Inn and the popular Meadowdore cafe.

Tanderra

Tanderra is one of a small terrace of traditional stone built houses, all approached by a steep winding narrow lane. Set high up in the fell, overlooking the village, the cottage offers a panoramic view of the Coniston Fells and the lake.

From the front entrance hall you enter into the ground floor open plan living space, all very well decorated and furnished with great thought to comfort.

Here you will find a comfy sofa and armchairs set around an open fire, adding a warmth and glow in winter months. To one side is the dining table set with leather chairs and, to the far end, a well equipped kitchen area where you can rustle up your favorite dish.

The view is quite wonderful - you can sit out on the little balcony with a drink and watch the comings and goings on the lake with its many sail boats, steamers and launches.

Upstairs lie the two comfortable bedrooms and the bathroom. There is one double offering yet more of the view, a twin and finally, the bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.

With a superb view, a close proximity to the village, plenty to see and do, all this along with a delightful cottage, Tanderra will make the perfect lakeland holiday home for couples or small families.
