This cosy little Lake District cottage lies in the village of Bouth, noted for one of Cumbrias best pubs, The White Hart. The location makes for easy exploration of the southern lakes to the north and the rolling meadows of the peninsulas and the south lakes coast.
Bouth lies west of Lake Windermere, at the southern end of the Rusland Valley. Popular with visitors for a peaceful setting among low fell, it is away from the busy crowds, offering pretty local walks and cycle rides.
Nearby is the excellent White Hart Inn. Warmly hosted by Nigel, the landlord, it offers one of the finest cellars of local ales, robust pub grub, both served up by the glow of roaring log fires under a canopy of blackened oak beams.
There are local walks through the deer park, and a short car ride brings you to the foot of Windermere, where you can spend a day at Fell Foot park mucking about in and on the water. Head south on the peninsular and you can explore the coast line and pick up Cumbria's section of the coastal way.
Kiln Cottage
Kiln Cottage lies at the end of a little row of three traditional 17th C cottages, next door to our other property, No 2 Kiln Houses.
The cottage has been completely refurbished to offer a home full of character, style and comfort, as perfect as a holiday home for four as a romantic retreat for two.
From the courtyard you enter into the kitchen, fully equipped and most pleasant for dining. From the kitchen you step down to a wide hallway with a desk to write your postcards home and plan your days out.
The sitting room is snug and warm with painted oak beams, soft lighting and a plump sofa with two arm chairs facing the crackling open fire.
From the sitting room you go into the front entrance hall, off which is the bathroom with bath, overhead shower and a separate WC.
Upstairs are two small but delightful bedrooms, one a queen size double the other with 2ft 6” twin beds.
Outside there is a gravelled courtyard which leads to a sunny spacious grassed garden with meadow views, perfect for a barbecue.
A super cottage in a perfect location which will offer a warm welcome for your Lakeland stay.
