Coniston Village
Set by the shores of one of the best and most popular lakes, Coniston is a perfect base for walking, climbing and water activities.
Bowness & Windermere
A village on the lake. Bowness lies on the east shores of Windermere, full of shops, inns and restaurants.
Broughton In Furness
Lying to the west of the Coniston Mountain Range, this bustling town is set in some of Cumbria’s most unspoiled and dramatic landscapes.
Cartmel
Cartmel is one of Cumbrias finest villages. Picture perfect, with ancient buildings, an impressive medieval priory, and plenty of inns, a wine bar and fine restaurant.
Kendal
The main town of the south lakes. Well worth a visit, both for its many shops and restaurants, also as a leading light in the arts, cinema and theatre.
Newby Bridge To Bouth
Three villages or hamlets set on or near the foot of Windermere. Some excellent pubs and hotels along with boat hire and steamer trips.
Grange Over Sands
Set on the Cartmel Penisula, Grange overlooks the Morecambe Bay. Plenty of good local shops along with a mile long promenade for an easy stroll
Grasmere Village
The last village before you head to the north lakes. Pretty buildings, some good inns and resturants, along with dove Cotage, home of Wordsworth
Hawkshead
Set in the heart of the Lake District. Set in the heart of the lakes,the village offers many inns and shops, with excellent local walks
Ulverston
Ulverston lies on the Furness peninsular, west of Cartmel. A typical northern market town, providing real shops for local needs, with a warm welcome and friendly smile.
