Today the Estate offers a selection of holiday homes and cottages to suit all party sizes, set in one of the finest locations in the central Lake District. Here, each cottage is a short distance from the private waters edge, where the view is filled by the high peaks of Coniston’s mountain range, reflected in deep waters.

From the village, tracks lead up through the old coppermines valley and to the foot of Coniston Old Man, where the hearty can make an attempt to the 2635 ft summit and view never to be forgotten.

Tinkler Beck Cottage

Tinkler Beck Cottage, adjoining Tinkler Beck Farm, is situated on the west side of the lane of the Estate. Set around a main central courtyard shared by three other cottages, each enjoy a fabulous position close to the lake and the estates private shoreline.

From the courtyard entrance you step into the open plan ground floor area. Though small, it has been cleverly designed to offer snug accommodation for couples, with its two comfortable arm chairs drawn around the log stove.

Tucked under the stairs is a little table for dining and to one end is a well equipped kitchen area. Add some candles and the crackle of a fire in winter, or a lake side picnic in summer and you have the perfect romantic retreat.

Stairs lead up to the first landing. Here you will find the super bathroom. Spacious and sparkling, it has a hand basin, WC, under floor heating and a fabulous large whirlpool bath to add that extra level of luxury.

On up, where the stairs open into the attic bedroom, with a plump double bed under a pitched ceiling and all prettily furnished with pale blues and creams.

From the rear door you step out to a small, private walled patio where you can barbecue and enjoy a glass of wine on a summers evening.

As with all the properties on the estate you have yards of private lake shore where you can sit, paddle or swim in the water or simply enjoy one of the finest views with a backdrop of high mountain and fell - simply, it is perfect!
